These air fryer mozzarella sticks are everything you want while glued to the screen: shatteringly crispy outside, molten and stretchy inside, and done in minutes so you never miss a goal.

The two secrets are double-breading and freezing — that's what keeps the cheese from bursting out in the air fryer. Make a batch before kickoff, keep a second batch breaded in the freezer, and air fry refills at halftime. Pair them with warm marinara and you've got the easiest crowd-pleaser of the whole tournament.

    Freeze the halved cheese sticks for at least 30 minutes — frozen cheese is what survives the air fryer without bursting.

    Set up three bowls: flour in the first, beaten eggs in the second, and panko mixed with parmesan, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and salt in the third.

    Coat each frozen stick in flour, dip in egg, roll in the panko mix — then dip in egg and panko a second time for a thick, crunchy double coat.
