You don't need a grill for a great steak. The air fryer's intense circulating heat gives you a deeply browned crust and an evenly cooked, juicy interior — no smoke, no splatter. A pat of garlic butter at the end takes it over the top.

Instructions
- 1
Let the steaks sit at room temperature for 30 minutes, then pat completely dry.
- 2
Rub with olive oil and season both sides with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- 3
Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (204°C). Cook the steaks for 5 minutes, then flip.
- 4
Cook another 4–6 minutes to your liking — 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare, 140°F (60°C) for medium.
- 5
Top each steak with butter (and thyme if using) and rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
Notes & Tips
A meat thermometer is the key to perfect doneness. Thicker steaks need a minute or two more; always rest before cutting to keep the juices in.
