Bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs are made for the air fryer — the skin turns shatteringly crisp while the meat stays juicy. With a simple pantry rub and no flipping fuss, this is an easy, budget-friendly dinner that tastes like more effort than it is.

Pat the chicken thighs completely dry with paper towels for the crispiest skin.

Rub the thighs all over with olive oil, then coat with the salt, garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, thyme, and pepper.

Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (204°C). Arrange the thighs skin-side up in a single layer, without crowding.

Air fry for 18–22 minutes until the skin is golden and crispy and the internal temperature reaches 175°F (79°C).

Rest for 5 minutes before serving so the juices settle.
Notes & Tips
Thighs are forgiving — a little extra time only makes them more tender. For boneless, skinless thighs, reduce the time to about 14–16 minutes.
