The air fryer makes the best baked potato: the skin gets crackly and salty while the inside turns light and fluffy — and you never have to heat up the whole oven. Load them up however you like for an easy side or a cheap, satisfying meal.

Instructions

  1. 1

Scrub the potatoes clean and dry them well. Poke each a few times with a fork.

  2. 2

Rub all over with olive oil and sprinkle with coarse salt.

  3. 3

Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (204°C). Place the potatoes in a single layer.

  4. 4

Air fry for 35–45 minutes, flipping halfway, until a fork slides in easily.

  5. 5

Slice open, fluff the inside with a fork, and add your favorite toppings.

Notes & Tips

Cook time depends on potato size — start checking at 35 minutes. For extra-crispy skin, don't wrap in foil.
